B'day & Dumpling Festival Greetings

Guess whose birthday falls on 28th May?

Not to mention, it concidentally falls on 28th May which is also the Chinese "Dumpling Festival" this year - also known as Duanwu Festival. This festival is usually celebrated by eating dumpling, throwing dumpling to the sea to commemorate Qu Yuan & follow by the Dragon Boat Festival. Of coz, we do not have any Dragon Boat Festival in Brunei. And this year, I only manage to eat ONE! dumpling. Oh gosh...

Festally Fancy Festivals ?

Ever wonder how many festive days are there in your own Race / Religion Calendar? I wonder at times too...

Don't Get Fooled Today !

Happy April Fools' Day!

I bet everyone has heard of this popular Day before. Bad news to us, it's not a public holiday but most countries do celebrate this day by getting fooled or you playing a prank on others.

And yet little did we know of its origin, history or tradition. Unfortunately after reading from wikipedia, the origins were never clearly understood & written. Haha... guess we will never how it came about. However few assumptions were listed down. Read more by clicking HERE.

Do check out the section "Real news on April Fools' Day". I'm particularly interested in these 3 bullet points: -

• The merger of Square and its rival company, Enix, took place on 1-Apr-2003 and was originally thought to be a joke.

• The announcement of the anime version of Powerpuff Girls, Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z, was on April Fools Day, causing many to think it was a joke.

• The game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games was announced only a couple days before April Fools' Day. Forums were flooded because so many thought that the two rivals since the 90's. Mario & Sonic the Hedgehog, appearing together in a video game as an official 2008 Olympics game was a joke.

People think too much sometimes? Hehe...

Birthday Greetings to Mum

Happy birthday to my mum which falls on 31st March.

This time we had yam ice-cream cake. Not so bad. We had quite a feast for a family of 4 at dinner time. In other words, I.... overeat.... >< .

Got my mum a gadget as her birthday gift (gonna post what it is soon), with a super cute gift bag which i bought separately. An aligator gift bag ! ... which belongs to mine now. LOL.

Steamboat / Grill @ my Lil` Home <3

The steamboat / grill went very well... in fact plenty of food left untouch still... Oh well, guess excess is better than insufficient. We played cards and losers got punished by drinking liquor. It was a great night =D. Also, my sincere thanks to my buddies for a surprise b'day cake which wasn't expected at all.
